Howdy, all you lovely string slingers,

I just wanted to update you about some of the latest in the workshop; it’s been as busy as ever, and I can’t thank you all enough. I’m completely blown away! I’m moving through the work as quickly as I can without compromising the very high standards I set, and I appreciate the patience while I get down to it. As always, I want the work coming out of this shop to be the absolute best it can be :) I need to quickly mention that at the moment I still can’t take on any more fretwork (including re-frets), and most (but not all) headstock breaks, as I’ve enough of those jobs for now, and the lead times for that work are too long! Cancellations will be posted if/when available, as there’s a maximum limit of 5 job spaces per day. I’ve adjusted the way things work a little in an attempt to cut down on admin and waiting times, so from the start of the year, I will only be making the coming month available two weeks before the start of that month, and the amount of the deposit will be increasing to £30. March dates will be made available around mid-February. Don’t worry, my rates are remaining the same as before, but with the appointments getting booked months in advance (which, on one hand, is lovely, thank you), there was a large increase in the amount of no-shows, and I couldn’t continue that way, as I’m sure you can understand.

That said, I do try to still book other work, so please feel free to email and ask; I’ll try my best to make space, but I can’t promise anything. I will now have 1 or 2 daily job spots for walk-ins (first-come, first-served) for quick, small work, but I can’t always guarantee this will be available, and please be advised that if it is a big job, I might not be able to help. We can discuss what you need in the workshop, and the rates for a drop-off consultation would still apply. If you have any limitations on time frames, please let me know or email me, and I’ll see if I can help.

I work by appointment only, and it’s £30 to book an appointment to come in and discuss something one-on-one in person or £15 to consult online. (Collections and follow-up appointments are still, of course, free.)

It's actually super simple and easy; the £30 for any drop-off appointments will be deducted from any work booked with the Stairway, so you do not have to pay any extra

You can always cancel or move your appointment with the link in the confirmation email, up until 48 hours before the time booked. After that, the time is confirmed, and the £30 deposit will be non-refundable. Simple and straightforward! As flexible as I try to be with my schedule, it's becoming difficult to manage, and it’s not just your job I miss out on, it’s the ability to book another one! Thanks for understanding
