Pickguards

Pickguards can be a tricky one. Sometimes a new one will just drop right in place, typically they might need some trimming and fine-tuning and occasionally a whole new one will need to be cut by hand! Clearly the more time we spend fitting or making a pickguard will affect the final cost and I don’t like to cut corners (hahaha) to ensure the final product is top-notch.

Pickguard changes are often incorporated into other jobs but should you need one custom cut just for your instrument, we can look after it. We have the work done in-house and occasionally have things handled by a third party depending on the materials required and time constraints.

I’m going to put this out there since I often get asked about custom pickguard pricing and people are typically surprised about the cost. Just as an example, think that most raw pickguard blank material will cost between £20-30 at least, and an hour’s work is £80, so that’s £100-110 total right there.

I’d love to charge less of course but it’s a proper bespoke part and requires making a template as well before cutting the pickguard, so please just keep it in mind :)
